Bears sign Sedrick Ellis

The Chicago Bears have agreed to terms with DT Sedrick Ellis on a one-year contract.

LAKE FOREST, IL - The Chicago Bears agreed to terms with DT Sedrick Ellis on a one-year contract today.

The 6-1, 307-pound Ellis started all 70 games played over five seasons (2008-12) in New Orleans after being selected by the Saints in the first round (seventh overall) in the 2008 NFL Draft out of USC. Ellis recorded 174 tackles (99 solo), 12.5 sacks, 13 pass break ups, two forced fumbles and a fumble recovery during his time with the Saints. In 2012, Ellis started all 16 games for New Orleans, collecting 36 tackles and a pass break up.
