The New Orleans Saints have signed defensive tackle Remi Ayodele and fullback Olaniyi Sobomehin to the practice squad. The signings were announced by Executive Vice President/General Manager Mickey Loomis and bring the club’s practice squad to the league-maximum eight players.

Ayodele, a second-year player, has had stints both on the practice squad and active roster of the Dallas Cowboys since first entering the NFL as an undrafted free agent in 2006, when signed out of the University of Oklahoma by the New England Patriots. The 6-2, 318-pound defensive tackle played in seven games for Dallas in 2007, making five tackles and forcing a fumble from his reserve lineman spot. He was waived by the Cowboys last week at the conclusion of the preseason.

Sobomehin is a rookie fullback from Portland State who first signed with the Saints in the days following April’s NFL draft. The 6-1, 230-pound back played in all four of the team’s preseason games this summer, catching one pass for five yards. He was waived Friday in the club’s final round of preseason cuts.
