This is the theme song for the team this year. Watching this team reminds me so much of the absolute terrible performances put up by yesteryear's teams. Although the biggest comparison that comes to mind is the 1993 implosion (5-0 to start then 3-8 to finish) which is still the worst in my mind. Now with the shadow cast by the very real possibility that SP will go to Dallas most likely, don't deceive yourselves that this will go down as the year they lost the competitive edge that made them superbowl contenders. I fear we are entering another long run of disappointment. Take heart though, the NFL saw fit to give us the opportunity for a few years of real chances to go deep in the playoffs and we did the SB one time. Even if SP stays which is highly unlikely since it benefits the league way more having him in Dallas vs N.O. (when is the last time your EVER heard the league nullify a head coaches newly signed contract due to "language?"), I don't believe that we'll have the support we had after Katrina. As for the commentary regarding my posts after the 0-4 start, I hate to say I told you so but....well....there you have it.
I think that every Saints fan needs to look at that other thread that breaks down the makeup of the team and you will understand just what a poor job that Loomis/Payton and the scouts in the front office have done drafting over the years.
Especially on the defensive side of the ball. For years the New Orleans offense was so far ahead of the others in the game that the high scoring offense would put pressure on the other teams to try and keep up. Now teams have adjusted and we have gotten worse on defense.
We are worse because we are a year older and have changed schemes which we are still not built for.
